Immigration
My proposal to end the problem of illegal immigration, which has become an invasion.
1. Secure the borders particularly the southern border with Mexico. I just don't care what Vincente Fox has to say about it. The only way to stop the traffic is to put something in the way. I suggest a wall backed by troops.
2. Completely end social services to people who can not prove American citizenship including schools, welfare, non-life threatening medical help. If a group of people wish to pay for their own education or medical services that is very desired and acceptable. The use of charity to provide services for anyone should be encouraged.
3. Pass federal legislation that photo ID is required to register to vote and photo ID is required to actually vote in any governmental election in the United States. Registration to vote can only be made for people who can PROVE citizenship.
4. Make citizenship available to people of other countries only through application made in those countries. In other words, no moving in and then demanding the same rights as those who came through the normal application process. If those who are here illegally wish to become voting citizens they would have to return to Mexico or wherever and apply. They would be welcome to stay but would remain non-voting persons who could not receive social security or any other government benefit.
5. Pass the FairTax so that all residents of the country pay their share fairly and those here illegally pay just a little more for disrespecting our laws.
There are those who demand punishment for employers who hire illegals but I would not punish anyone for being here or using the free market to advance their dreams.
